60 Years of Clarecastle Tidy Towns: On Sunday August 13th an exhibition celebrating 60 years of Clarecastle Tidy Towns will take place in the Old ( 1935) School, Clarecastle starting at 1pm – 3pm. The exhibition will consist of photographs from the village in the 1960s as well as photographs illustrating the many changes and improvements that have taken place over the years. An illustrate talk, entitled Who’s Been Living in my House will be given by Kathy Roughan, this will take place at 1.30pm. Owership records serve as a wonderful source of family and social history.
On Thursday August 17th at 7pm a limited viewing of Barntick House which dates back to 1661 will take place along with a short talk on its history given by Joe Power. As parking will be limited, people attending the event are asked to please consider carpooling.
